Some of you are here today reading this blog because you want to meet somebody with whom exchange Spanish and English.
But it you are on your own, have you ever consider sharing flat with a bunch of Spanish professionals?
I have a friend, who did that and from speaking no Spanish at all, after sharing flat with Spanish people he managed to speak the language at conversational level within just six months!
Are you an MBA student who is looking forward to learn Spanish as a second language? Why don’t you do that?
I know there are many things you may want to consider before you move into another house. And probably the most important is: how do I find homes with Spanish speaking people living on it in the first place?
Well, you can ring the house and ask: “habla español?” (do you speak Spanish?). If the person says “si” (that means “yes”) you can consider all the other things, whatever they are.
Another thing you could do is to get a troop of Spanish pen pals and suggest the move. Do they want to do the same for themselves? Ok, why do they think they won’t? Once you are living together, it doesn’t matter how many of you speak Spanish and how many speak English. All you have to do is to agree what language you will speak any given day… Make it a rule of the house!
If you think this is a bad idea, think twice! This is the way I learned my English, and as I mentioned before, this is the way my friend learned fluent Spanish in just six months!
